Privacy Notice

Effective date: July 14, 2026

Information You Submit

Search entries

A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Fairfield County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages

An email or contact submission is retained as needed to answer it. The message is not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Automatic Technical Data

Normal site operation may collect technical facts when a page loads:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring page, when available
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies

Cookies help measure use and maintain site functions. Browser controls can reject them, though some features may then work differently.

How Data Is Used

Collected data may be used to:

  • Operate the service and keep pages responsive.
  • Send a search to the selected partner.
  • Understand which content visitors use.
  • Detect faults, abuse, and security problems.
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.

Outside Sites and Advertising

Links lead to CT DOC, courts, release-record offices, BOP, ICE, and outside search tools. After a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy rules apply. Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. Fairfield County Released Inmates does not control that processing.

Who May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold. It may be provided to:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query.
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic.
  • Advertising networks serving or measuring ads.
  • Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Security Practices

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, and this site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may request its deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held by the site, request correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Browser settings also control cookies. Connecticut public records linked from this service remain under the control of the government office that holds them.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
